Code of Ethics

Dr Heidi Kharbhih is a Trauma Informed Breathwork(TM) Student at the One Breath Institute (OBI) undergoing certification training to be a OBI Certified Facilitator and Practitioner, governed by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA).

I agree to comply with the following code of ethics:

  1. I will always maintain the highest quality and integrity in my work, respecting the dignity and diversity of all people, including philosophies of health and wellbeing, and oppose discrimination and judegemental behaviour.

  2. I respect that clients hold within themselves profound wisdom and self-healing and my role as a guide and facilitator is to help them access this.

  3. I commit to interact with clients in a truthful, courteous, considerate and compassionate manner, providing appropriate coaching, feedback and goal-directed guidance that will best serve the needs of my client. I will never press my own personal view or opinions on my client.

  4. I commit to respect the privacy of clients and preserve the confidentiality of information acquired in the course of our time together.

  5. I commit to practice only when in sound condition and not when impaired by emotional issues, illness, alcohol, drugs or for any other reason. I acknowledge breathwork as a powerful healing modality, only to be experienced sober. I will never offer breathwork to someone who is under the influence of any consciousness altering substance(s).

  6. I will always be clear and direct (with my client and myself) about what is within my scope of practice, and will refer my client to another facilitator if I feel it to be in their best interest.

  7. I will always treat my clients fairly and justly, and will never seek to gain sexual, emotional or financial advantage. If I feel there is a sexual attraction on either end I will refer them to another facilitator.

  8. I commit to continuing my personal healing and development. I will do this through continued personal practice, group sessions and workshops, and receiving one to one sessions from other facilitators. As a practicing breathworker, I commit to continually furthering my education and will meet continuing education guidelines as directed by One Breath Institute and / or the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance.
